Bill Salisbury (Director)
This is Bill's first show with LTCT and what a marvelous way to begin! Over the
past years, Bill has acted in, directed and produced a large number of shows for
community and regional theatre in the Oakland County area of Michigan. His
directing credits include "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen;
"Death of a Salesman" and "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller;
"A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams and numerous other
dramas and comedies. For several years, Bill and his wife, Jan, operated their
own dinner theatre company, The Komedy Players Dinner Theatre. This past year
they co-directed "Fiddler on the Roof" for the Farmington Players.
Bill wants to thank all of the fine people at LTCT for their full support in
helping bring one of Shakespeare's finest comedies to you.
Jerry
Christin (Orsino, Duke of Illyria)
Jerry's past shows with LTCT include
"Communicating Doors" - Julian, "The Rainmaker" - Starbuck,
"The Taming of the Shrew" - Gremio. Last summer, at Bay View, Jerry
played Tevia in "Fiddler on the Roof." Catch him on the Second Sunday
and Second Second Sunday of the month performing with the LTCT Second Sunday
Improv Troupe at the Perry Hotel. When not acting, Jerry owns and runs iZone
Online Gaming Center in Petoskey and is co-partner in the McKaye-Christin Group,
a database and computer programming company. Jerry will be making his
directorial debut next spring when he'll be directing "You Can't Take It
With You" to close out LTCT's 60th Anniversary Season.
Abbey Graham (Valentine/First Officer)
This is Abbey's third appearance on LTCT's
stage. In 2003 she played the lead role of Mrs deWinter in "Rebecca".
Her first time on LTCT's stage was as Katisha's Dragon in "The
Mikado". Most of her experience is behind the scenes, and helping her mom
with whatever comes her way. Her free time is spent working at the Little
Traverse Bay Humane Society and staying at home with her "children",
Jesus, Nihil, and Token.
Dale Haske (Curio/Second Officer)
This is Dale's first time as an actor in
the Little Traverse Civic Theatre. Over the past three years he has been
involved in many plays with set construction. Such plays as "Cemetery
Club", "Taming of the Shrew", and "Communicating
Doors". His last acting part was in "The Importance of Being
Ernest" while attending Ferris State University three years ago. His time
spent off stage is working as an engineer at a local manufacturing plant.
"The past few weeks have been an eye-opening experience on the stage that
will never be forgotten."
Rebecca Sand (Olivia)
This is quite a switch for Becca from her
last role with LTCT. She played Poopay, a dominatrix, in this past spring's
production of "Communicating Doors". Previously, however, she graced
the arts center stage as Kate in "Taming of the Shrew", Maggie in
"Lend Me a Tenor", and Mabel Cantwell in "The Best Man". In
addition, she is a founding member of LTCT's Second Sunday Improv Troupe. Before
moving north to teach dance, Becca spent more than ten years performing
with the International Ballet Theatre in Sandusky, and appearing in six
independent films.
Jan Salisbury (Maria/Assistant
Director/Drama Coach)
Jan was smitten with the acting bug early
in life in her native Canada when she was picked to play the witch in the Grade
2 play because she was the only child who didn't have her two front teeth.
Although she has had a leading role in over 40 plays in the Detroit area, her
only previous acting experience with Shakespeare was playing Desdemona in
"Othello". She has however, been an avid "Shakespeare fan"
visiting Stratford, Ontario at least once a year since she saw her first play
there when it opened in 1953.
Chris Schaedig (Sir Toby Belch)
Chris is no stranger to the stage or to
Shakespeare. He appeared previously as Benedict in LTCT's production of
"Much Ado About Nothing" and as Lucentio in "Taming of the
Shrew". Most recently, he took a turn in the director's chair when he
artfully choreographed the action and dialogue in "Communicating
Doors". Chris has also worked with the Association of Harbor Arts and the
Saline Area Players. His most important role, however, is father of Ben, a
frightfully intelligent, entertaining four year old.
Matthew Miga (Sir Andrew Aguecheek)
This is Matthew's return to the stage after
a five-year hiatus. During that time, he graduated college, traveled to Spain
and London, and moved to Petoskey to teach English and Spanish in Pellston.
Matthew would like to thank his coworkers, friends, and family for their endless
support. He dedicates this performance to the memory of his mother, the greatest
teacher he had in life.
Gary Albert (Malvolio/Assistant to the
Director)
Gary's last foray into Shakespeare was his
wild and crazy portrayal of Petruchio in LTCT's production of "Taming of
the Shrew". He has also appeared in LTCT's "The Rainmaker",
"Sweet Charity", "The Shadow Box", and "Oliver". A
native of Harbor Springs, Gary studied theatre at MSU and then moved to Chicago
for 18 years, working as a professional actor with numerous groups in the
Chicago area. Although he left the professional acting life behind when he
returned to Northern Michigan, he continues to hone his skills, not only acting
for LTCT but also directing "Lend Me a Tenor" and last year's huge
success, "The Christmas Schooner".
Mandy Robinson (Fabian)
Mandy is a lifelong Northern Michigan
resident and currently teaches English and Drama at Pellston High School. She
obtained a Literature Degree from Lake Superior State University in 2002, and
has studied Shakespeare, Milton, Chaucer, and many other classical authors. This
is Mandy's first Shakespearian production.
Kara Ulrich (Margaret)
Four years ago, Kara began her
"career" with LTCT as Hero in "Much Ado About Nothing" and
then appeared in the street urchin chorus in last summer's production of
"Little Shop of Horrors". She has been in numerous church and school
productions since she was five. Kara enjoys dancing, reading, singing, and all
forms of art. She is returning to NCMC this fall to continue her studies in
English Education. Kara lives in Petoskey with her parents and three of her four
sisters.
Taylor Carlston (Feste)
"I was pretty much raised on the
stage. I always liked performing in front of people as a kid, always looking to
get a laugh. My first stage performance was in elementary school where I played
a lion with allergies. It wasn't the best show ever written, but I was on the
stage nonetheless. My first musical lead was as Reverend Shaw in
"Footloose" and most recently I starred in the musical,
"Honk!" as the ugly duckling properly named 'Ugly'."
Chris Anderson (Priest/Sea Captain)
Chris made his acting debut last December
playing Gusto in the holiday musical "The Christmas Schooner". After
accomplishing a modicum of success learning several lines of German for the
part, he figured he might be able to undertake a small role (or two) in a
Shakespearian play. He is a self-employed computer technician and part-time
instructor for the Institute for Business and Industry Training at North Central
Michigan College.
Susan Brown (Viola/Cesario)
Susan's first onstage Shakespearian
experience was Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" in high school. She then
became a theatre minor at Michigan State University and majored in advertising.
While at MSU I performed with a theatre troupe called "Olin Health Center's
Virtual Sexuality Troupe" and we performed for sororities, fraternities, at
resident halls, and at some high schools. Incidentally, Spartans Rock!! Now she
works for Emphasys Software as a Marketing Associate by day and play softball,
read great books, and kick box at night. And to keep her interest in theatre
alive she auditioned for and got the role of Jessica in LTCT's production of
"Communicating Doors" last spring.
Patrick Schaller (Sebastian)
Patrick is a fourth generation resident of
Northern Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan. He now works as
the Regional Sales Manager for the Phone Guide. He has participated in shows
such as "Charlie's Aunt" and "Forever Plaid" and appeared in
LTCT's production of "The Best Man". This is his first show in three
years, and he is excited to return to the stage.
Aaron Place (Antonio)
LTCT audiences first enjoyed Aaron in
"The Christmas Schooner" where he dazzled us all with his fancy
footwork. Previous to that he was a part of Boyne Meets Broadway and appeared in
Boyne City High School productions throughout his time there. Aaron also lends a
hand in the technical areas of LTCT as well, serving as the Light Designer for
"Twelfth Night", working as the Sound Man for "Communicating
Doors", and always using the expertise he has gained at his job at The Wood
Shop, when there is a set to be built or finished. In his spare time he is
studying business at NCMC.
