Chris
Schaedig - Director
This is Chris' first foray into
directing, but he's no stranger to LTCT. He appeared previously as Benedict in Much
Ado About Nothing, Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, Garry/Roger in Noises
Off, Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew, and the smallest prince in The
King and I. A member of the Second Sunday Improv Troupe, Chris has worked
with the Association for Harbor Arts and the Saline Area Players. In his spare
time, he's a freelance writer, a pirate of the South Seas, a cattle baron, a
detective, the inventor of the Hula Hoop, and a frequent visitor to unsavory
Cuban jazz clubs. He is also the father of Ben, a frightfully intelligent,
entertaining and sweet three year old. Favorite Historical Period: The Crusades,
a time of great cultural synthesis, important history and good old-fashioned
medieval bloodletting.
Larry
Willis - Assistant
Director &
Reece Welles (age 70)
Larry has enjoyed lead roles in the
LTCT productions of Play It Again, Sam, An Act of the Imagination, The Woman
in Black, and Rebecca, and appeared most recently as Dogberry in Much
Ado About Nothing. He's directed Equus, Noises Off (twice), Confusions,
The Foreigner, Lettice & Lovage, and Phantom 2000. As if that
weren't enough, he's also tried his hand at producing, stage managing, light
design, and set construction while serving three terms as LTCT president. Larry
is married to Betsy Willis and is the co-owner of Arbor Associates, a local
health consulting firm. Communicating Doors character he's most like: A
masculine version of Ruella with a touch of Harold-basically a good chap who
enjoys helping others. Now if he could only cultivate a credible British
accent...
Rebecca Sand-Dugas -Poopay
Becca graced the LTCT stage most recently
as Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. She likewise appeared as Maggie in Lend
Me a Tenor and Mabel Cantwell in The Best Man. A founding member of
the Second Sunday Improv Troupe, Becca spent more than ten years performing with
the International Ballet Theatre in Port Huron, has worked with the Barn Theatre
in Sandusky, and has appeared in six independent films. A busy instructor during
the day, Becca teaches dance classes at Center Stage (Petoskey) and in the Boyne
area as well. She also coaches the Harbor Springs High School dance team.
Favorite historical period: The 1940's - oh, the Hollywood glamour! Communicating
Doors character she is most like: Julian, because she likes to push people
out of windows-especially those who annoy her.
Betsy
Willis - Ruella Welles
Betsy has performed nearly every task in theater during her time with LTCT,
including recent stints as assistant director of The Christmas Schooner
and The Rainmaker, and director of The Taming of the Shrew. She
last appeared on stage in The Cemetery Club, and as a member of the
Second Sunday Improv Troupe. Betsy is currently in rehearsal for a first-time
production of No Problem, which will make its debut this summer in
Petoskey. Due to a self-confessed fear of leaving the building, she serves as
the business manager for LTCT as well. If you've been reading these bios in
order, you've already learned that she's married to Larry. What she'd say if she
traveled back in time and met herself: Love yourself, enjoy life, love others
wisely, and stay off pool tables when you've been drinking Cosmopolitans.
Susan
Brown - Jessica Welles
Susan was a theater minor at Michigan State University and appeared as Juliet in
Romeo and Juliet and Dr. Fraulein in Ms. Frankenstein's Monster in
high school, but her LTCT experience has been limited to "a heck of a lot
of practicing". Susan is a marketing associate at Emphasys Software, a
local management and finance software company. She enjoys reading, softball,
volleyball, and basketball and is fond of spending time with her two brothers,
her soon-to-be sister in-law, her nephew, and her two amazing best friends. Communicating
Doors character she's most like: Ruella with a twist (you'll have to ask her
what the twist is)--she is a very strong, kind, smart woman. What she'd say if
she traveled back in time and met herself: Keep doing what you're doing, and
don't be afraid to take more chances. Don't be afraid of anything!
Jerry
Christin - Julian Goodman
Jerry made his stage debut last year as Gremio in the LTCT production of The
Taming of the Shrew, and a star was born. He's since appeared as Tevye in
Bay View's production of Fiddler on the Roof and as Starbuck in LTCT's The
Rainmaker, as well as performing with the Second Sunday Improv Troupe. He's
the owner and founder of iZone Online Gaming Center in Petoskey and is also the
co-owner of the McKaye-Christin Group, a database consulting firm. He's been
married to Lisa Christin for close to twenty years, and they have a 14 year-old
son, Jerry III. Favorite historical period: The late 1800's - long before cell
phones were invented. What he would say if he traveled back in time and met
himself: Purchase a lot of Microsoft stock; and stop dreaming of what you want
to do and just do it!
Chris
Koury - Harold Palmer
Chris is a veteran of the LTCT stage, portraying Lloyd in Noises Off, Tom
in The Glass Menagerie, and Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew, among
many others. He also directed Grotesque Lovesongs and Jake's Women
and served as LTCT president in 1994 and 1995. He is the host of the Second
Sunday Improv Troupe and has worked with the Association for Harbor Arts. Chris
is a musician/troubadour/music teacher/rock star who teaches guitar and bass at
Crooked Tree Arts Center, and he'd like to thank his wife Corinne, stepdaughter
Delaney, and mom, Dorothy, for their support. Favorite historical period: The
mod, swingin' 60's, baby! Communicating Doors character he's most like:
Harold, because "I'm a legend in my own mind. And quite inept in many
ways." What he'd say if he traveled back
Jim
Wylie - Reece Welles (age 30)
Jim is a true rookie who's never done any acting on the stage, though he assures
us that he has indeed seen several plays. His LTCT experience includes showing
up for auditions, accepting a role with tears of joy, and experiencing firsthand
what little fun it is to memorize lines. Jim is a recent transplant from Los
Angeles, and frequently marvels at the differences between that world and this
one. His career includes a series of (he says) unprofitable real estate deals
punctuated by bouts of severe depression; needless to say, he's either very
sarcastic, brutally hones, or a very sad, sad man. Whichever the case may be,
he's new talent, and we intend to keep him around for a while. Favorite
historical period: The Cro-Magnon Era. What he'd say if he traveled back in time
and met himself: Hey, (expletive deleted!) Where's my twenty bucks???
