The cemetery Club by Ivan Menchall

Performance Dates:  May 8 - 17, 2003

Three middle-aged widows are fast friends.  One flirts outrageously, another is dedicated to the memory of her husband and the third is beginning to realize that she still has a life to live.  When an eligible widower appears on the scene, sparks start to fly.

Bill Zoerhof b&w.jpg (33489 bytes) Bill Zoerhof (Director) Bill has been active in civic theater, both Little Traverse Civic Theatre and Bay View for over 30 years.  He has enjoyed many roles in stage plays and  musicals.  Most recent were as Art Hockstader last fall in LTCT's The Best Man and as Mr. Dipenta in You Can't Take It With You last summer in Bay View.  Bill's first directing experience was as associate director for LTCT's production of Wife Begins at 40When Bill is not in the theater his "hobbies" include singing with the Little Traverse Choral Society and church choirs, cooking for church dinners, gardening and "puttering" around in general.  Bill selected this play for its portrayal of humor and warmth shared between old friends.  "I hope you enjoy the show."

Sabra Hayden b&w.jpg (54868 bytes)Sabra Hayden (Assistant Director) Sabra has become almost a permanent fixture at the theater during the past 11 years.  She has enjoyed working with this cast and crew as the AD.  "This is an extraordinary group of actors to work with and it has been a lot of fun."  In addition to the backstage work, Sabra currently  serves on the Board of Directors as Co-Treasurer and Co-Program Chair.  When not at the theater, Sabra enjoys reading, biking, golf and cooking.  She is also looking forward to directing this fall's production of The Shadowlands.  Sabra would also like to thank her husband and children for their patience and support when she's at the theater.

Betsy Willis b&w.jpg (47524 bytes) Betsy Willis (Ida) "I think I've done it all; acting, directing, and technical areas."  The last time Betsy was onstage was in the LTCT production of Sylvia and her last two directing experiences were with Rebecca and Much Ado About Nothing.  Next season Betsy will be directing The Taming of The Shrew.  Betsy is married to Larry Willis and enjoys traveling, golf, bridge and snorkeling.  Betsy and Larry are dual recipients of the inaugural eddi Award for Performing Artists.

Zoerhof (Doris) June's theater credits are as varied as they are numerous.  Her most favorite roles with LTCT are Marian the Librarian in The Music Man and Aunt Alicia in Gigi.  In Bay View her favorites are Maria in The Sound of Music, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly, and Julie La Verne in Show Boat.  June directed LTCT's Children's Theater for seven years.  She is married to Bill Zoerhof and together they have six children.  She counts cross country skiing, photography and aerobics as her favorite activities.  June would like to dedicate her performance to the memory of her mother, Helen Cannon, who was a charter member of LTCT.

 

  Michelle Taylor b&w.jpg (43320 bytes)Michelle Taylor (Lucille)  Michelle moved to the Petoskey area from California a little over ten years ago.  "Funny how time passes some people right by..."  She has been active with LTCT onstage, backstage, on the Board of Directors, the Artistic Committee, and as a director.  You might remember her as Florence in The Odd Couple - Female Version, and most recently, as Mrs. Gamadge in The Best Man.  By day, her mild mannered alter ego is a paralegal, specializing in elder law issues and Medicaid eligibility for long term care.

Scott Madden b&w.jpg (43853 bytes)Scott Madden (Sam)  "This is my first performance with LTCT and I am happy to be here.  I've been Detective Trotter in The Mousetrap and won best actor in 2002 for Southgate Community Players for my betrayal of Royce in Dearly Departed.  I have worked behind the scenes on several musicals and other things.  I am looking forward to helping out here."  "I have to thank Bill and Sabra for giving the "young" new guy a chance.  Of course, I have to thank my wife and two boys for supporting me even though I am gone.  Sally, you are wonderful.  Michelle, keep your pants on.  June, don't be so pessimistic and Betsy, you look 'sensational'.  Thank you all for putting up with me and last but not least, God bless our troops and GO ARMY!!!!!!!!"

Sally McCoy b&w.jpg (48522 bytes)Sally McCoy (Mildred) Sally's LTCT credits include producing The Curious Savage and A Doll's House.  She's acted in The Odd Couple - Female Version (Mickey the Cop), Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (Stella Mae) and in Laura as Mrs. Dorgan.  Sally served on LTCT's Board of Directors from 1998 through 2002.  She studied theater in Detroit 1972-1974.  Sally is the founder & owner of Capricorn Moon, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary on May 24, 2003.  She is stimulated professionally by alternative spirituality, astrology, writing, and teaching classes.  Sally also enjoys her Boston Terrier, Seanachai.
