Shrew Diaries
Betsy Willis (Director)
Betsy has been involved with LTCT since 1977. There are very few jobs in the
theatre that Betsy hasn't tried. She can either be thought of as well rounded in
theatre or just nuts! Last season she directed the show Rebecca and then
performed onstage in The Cemetery Club. In her spare time she serves as LTCT's
volunteer treasurer and office manager. She and her husband, Larry, love to
travel, play golf and bridge, and enjoy their many friends.
Suzanne Shumway (Assistant Director)
As an English and Speech instructor at North Central Michigan College, Dr.
Shumway is intrigued by the way literature becomes performance. She has worked
in props in LTCT's production of Wife Begins At Forty, Too Soon for Daisies, and
The Cemetery Club. top
Rebecca Sand-Dugas (Katharina)
This is Rebecca's third performance with LTCT, having played Mabel in The
Best Man and Maggie in Lend Me a Tenor. She has been performing onstage since
elementary school with numerous dance and theatre groups throughout Michigan.
She has also acted in four independent films, one shown at an international film
festival. She has recently changed her major to Biology and plans to attend
medical school. She is currently teaching dance at Center Stage School of Dance
in Petoskey as well as two schools in the Boyne area. top
Alexandra J. Grandstaff (Bianca)
This is Alex's first appearance with the Little Traverse Civic Theatre.
However she has performed in the Petoskey High School productions of Oliver and
The Fiddler on the Roof. Alex is 16 and a junior at Petoskey High. Alex would
like to thank her parents, Eric Grandstaff and Alexis Kaczynski, her brother,
Andy, and boyfriend, Deskin, for their support. She would also like to thank all
of her teachers, friends, and the crew and cast for the time and effort they put
into this production. top
Sabra Hayden (Widow)
Sabra has been actively involved with LTCT for over 10 years. Her most
recent endeavor was as director of last fall's production of Shadowlands. Sabra
looks forward to working with her children in the children's production she will
be directing for LTCT next year. "Thank you Darryl, for indulging my
hobby." top
Dean Tahtinen (Baptista Minola)
A regular performer with the Second Sunday Improv Troupe, this is his
first attempt at Shakespeare. His daily performances can be seen at 1st Choice
Physical Therapy where he portrays a P.T. He would like to thank his wife for
her support, his sons for their help, and his daughter Jana, for her
patience. top
Kendal Taylor (Vincentio)
Kendal's first appearance on the LTCT stage was in 1995, he portrayed Dr. Stuart
Framingham in Beyond Therapy. Subsequent roles include Roger Dixon in Wife
Begins at Forty and Major Giles Lacy in Rebecca. Kendal is currently President
of LTCT. While living in Southern California he was extremely active in theater
and other acting venues. He appeared in six films, countless TV and radio
commercials, and owned a dinner theater near Los Angeles. He produced and/or
directed seven shows a year, ranging from drama to musical comedy. When not
directing, he was often found on stage performing roles from Sky Masterson in
Guys and Dolls to his favorite, Frank Elgin in The Country Girl. Originally from
Leslie, Michigan, Kendal now lives in Petoskey with his wife, Christine, who is
also active with LTCT. top
Chris Schaedig (Lucentio)
Chris is a full time dad, freelance writer, rodeo clown, Zamboni driver
and international spy from Ann Arbor. He's appeared on the LTCT stage as
Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Garry/Roger in Noises Off, Nanki-Poo in The
Mikado and the smallest prince in The King and I. He wishes to extend special
thanks to Nicole, Ben, Judy, Dave, Dale, Amy, and everyone else who's allowed
him to enjoy this extended visit to Northern Michigan. top
Gary Albert (Petruchio)
Gary marks his acting comeback (I hate that word - it's
"return"!) with LTCT as Petruchio - (typecasting indeed!). Gary has
appeared in past LTCT shows such as Sweet Charity, The Shadow Box and Oliver!,
and directed the recent hit Lend Me A Tenor. Gary is a recent Chicago transplant
where he spent 18 years as a professional actor appearing with Bailiwick
Repertory Theatre, Healthworks Theatre, New Tuners, Live Theatre, Chicago
Theatre Ensemble and Pegasus Players, to name a few. top
Jerry Christin (Gremio)
This is Jerry's debut onstage with the LTCT and he is very excited to work
with such an outstanding cast. He is also a member of LTCT's Second Sunday
Improv Troupe. When not performing, Jerry develops enterprise software
applications, fishes, and attempts to play golf. He and his wife, Lisa, have
lived in Northern Michigan since 1988 and have a twelve-year-old son named Jerry
III. Jerry would like to thank his wife and son for all their support and
encouragement. top
Scott Madden (Hortensio)
For the past year and a half, LTCT has felt like a second home for Scott.
"I am glad that you have taken me in with open arms! I only wish I could
stay here longer. I would like to thank Betsy for giving me the opportunity to
try Shakespeare, even with my overly flexible schedule. Thanks to Tim and Adam
for their love and support. But most of all, thanks to my pillar, my strength,
and my best friend, my wife, Rebecca! I've got your socks! Go Army!!! Amazing
Grace." top

Lovesongs and Jake's Women. Chris has also served as Stage Director, Producer,
Sound Director/Technician and President of the LTCT Board of Directors. He is
married to Corinne and stepfather to Delaney. top
Nicholas Arkison (Biondello)
This is Nicholas's third appearance on the LTCT stage. He also writes on
www.fanfiction.net under the name of Qoheleth, and wants to know why no one has
taken his AFI challenge. top
Joshua Hill (Grumio)
Josh was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. He moved to Pellston when he was
eleven. While there, he starred in two productions: David and Lisa and the
Beverly Hillbillies. This is his first performance with LTCT. Josh would like to
thank all of his family and friends who have supported him throughout his acting
career. top

Dozen, both on the Petoskey High School stage. top
Frank Nemecek (A Pedant)
Over the past 19 seasons Frank has taken many roles from the telephone installer
in Gigi to C.S. Lewis in Shadowlands. Between roles he has acted as director,
stage manager, construction head, designer and most other technical positions.
Frank and wife, Karen, are bringing up children, Spencer and Maddie in the
theater tradition. Broadway and Stratford are two of their regular vacation
stops. Frank is a teacher in real life in the Gaylord School
district. top
Chuck Donnelly (Tailor)
Chuck is currently a member of the LTCT Board of Directors, serving as the
Newsletter Editor. "After participating in the last four LTCT productions
as a technical crewmember, it feels good to be back on stage. Gosh, and I
thought it was hot in the light booth…" top
Dan Deschermeier (Haberdasher and Baptista's servant)
This is Dan's first time with LTCT and he wouldn't trade a second of it
for the world. There was never a dull moment in the whole production.
"Thank you very much." top
Krista Scott (Nathaniel)

really enjoyed working with the wonderful cast, and hope to be in a future LTCT

future." top

talented in visual arts, Kasey's art is on display in her own exhibit at Concord
