The Choreographers
Heather Stead (Chiffon) I
am a recent graduate of Harbor Springs High School, and plan to attend NCMC in
the fall. I come from a small family. My mother and father, Linda
and Terry Stead, and my brother Ric, are also involved with the arts. I
have been involved with theater and performing on stage all my life. It's
one of my favorite pastimes. Some of the productions I have been involved
in are "Me and My Girl", "Pirates of Penzance", "Guys
and Dolls", "West Side Story", and "Bang, Bang, You're
Dead". I'm so excited to perform in "Little Shop of
Horrors".
Carey Slatten (Crystal) I'm
a 16-year-old, who attends Inland Lakes High School in Indian River. I
have studied dance for more than 10 years, and have been singing since I was
3. I started acting in second grade. I've been invited to sing with
Blue Lake International Choir and toured with them overseas. I volunteer
for Summerfest almost every summer, enjoy the fine arts, and am a
cheerleader. I have three older sisters, and my parents are Kendra Slatten
and the late Charles Slatten.
Whitney Hershberger (Ronette)
I am a 2004 graduate of East Jordan High School. In the fall, I'll attend
Grand Valley State University, where I'll major in English and Theatre, and earn
my teaching certificate. I've been involved in theater since the 4th grade
where I made my debut as Paul Bunyan. Since then I've performed in middle
school productions, including "The Jury Room", "Wizard of
Oz", "Guys and Dolls", "Annie Warbucks", and
"Cinderella".
Allie Manker (Yolanda) I
had major parts in middle school plays and participated in drama class. I
work at the Harbor Light Newspaper in Harbor Springs. I have a 15 year-old
brother whom I love to death. Outside of theater, I enjoy writing,
traveling and eating. I will be going to Northwestern University in fall,
where I plan to study journalism.
Michael Roth (Mushnik) I
have been making up for lost time, away from Civic Theatre. Over the last
three years, I was a pirate in "Pirates of Penzance" and Senator
Carlin in "The Best Man". I come by my east coast accent
naturally, having grown up in Brooklyn, New York. I have spent the last 12
years in Petoskey practicing law with my spouse Lynn Corgan, and enjoying my two
children - Adam, age 10, and Cara, 18.
Betony Furgeson (Audrey) I
am currently a junior at Northern Michigan University where I am a performance
theatre minor. I was involved in theater throughout high school and have
since then been a part of a number of shows including "Oklahoma",
"Cabaret", " Company", and a few student-directed
plays. This is my first, but hopefully not my last, performance with
Little Traverse Civic Theatre.
John LaBrie (Seymour)
"Little Shop of Horrors" is John's second performance with Little
Traverse Civic Theatre. He was a member of the 1996 production of the
"Mikado". He would like to thank his friends and family for
supporting him through the years.
James Bruney (Orin) I am
very excited to be a part of this production as my LTCT debut. Before
arriving in Petoskey I was a part of productions at the Round Barn in Nappanee,
IN and at Bethel College in South Bend, IN. Productions I have been in
include "My Fair Lady", "Music Man", "Pajama
Game", "Pirates of Penzance", "Matchmaker", "Our
Town", "Damn Yankees", "Curious Savage",
"Cinderella", "West Side Story", "7 Brides for 7
Brothers", and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat". I would like to thank the Lord for the talent I have been
blessed with and for His constant Love. John 3:17.
Tracy Ulrich (Audrey II -
Voice) From his humble beginnings as Winthrop in the Young American's national
tour of "The Music Man" at the tender age of 12, Tracy's roots in
musical theater run deep. His love for the stage grew as he performed lead
roles in eight different musicals, including "Oklahoma!", "West
Side Story", and "Brigadoon". Although he continued to hone
his acting and singing skills, "Little Shop of Horrors" marks his
return to musical theater after a nearly twenty year hiatus. Currently,
Tracy can be seen performing throughout the Midwest with his comedy barbershop
quartet, the "Four Man Fishin' Tackle Choir" (www.4mftc.com).
Terry Stead (Audrey II -
Manipulation) I began with an interest in music at the age of 7. I've had
parts in school plays since 2nd grade. I started performing magic shows at
age 12. My wife, son, and I built a family-oriented magic show, and
performed for civic organizations, the Lansing Fire Department, and the Jerry
Lewis Telethon. We performed for a Muscular Dystrophy program before a
crowd of 80,000 people. I've built sets for a Christian TV studio, and
built many of my own props and equipment. I have done clowning since
1979. I am a cabinet maker, furniture designer and builder, and a
finishing technician. I have built props and sets for several high school
plays.
Emily
Davenport (Chorus) Dance. It's pretty much all I do. I have 3
years of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. I am an active
gymnast, baton twirler, and snowboarder. I placed 6th in the USASA
snowboarding nationals in 2003. I participated in the Petoskey High
Marching Band as a freshman, playing the snare drum, and I'm also part of the
steel drum band. I traveled to Detroit to further my performance skills at
the Millie Lewis Workshop. When not performing, I enjoy playing golf and
competing at the Big North Conferences with PHS varsity golf team, ranking 11th
overall.
Katie
Diller (Chorus) I started theater in 7th grade as a boy in
"Oliver". Since then I have been in six other shows. I
started singing and taking voice lessons my freshman year and sing often at
church, as well as at town and school events. I just started dancing this
year. I currently work at the Harborage Marina in Boyne City as a dock
hand and plan to join the Young Americans after high school. I have a big
family, including five older brothers. Theater and entertainment are my passions
in life. I would love to make a career out of them.
Lee Dyer
(Chorus) Because I fear the wrath of the producers I'll say a few words about
myself. I've dreamed of one thing since childhood, and still hope to one
day achieve this one goal. And it isn't to star on Broadway or even to
make my way in Hollywood as an actor. I want to compose and play the
greatest music ever. But I'll settle for playing "good music" as
long as I can compose greater - or maybe it's the other way around.
Taylor
Reiss (Chorus) I am a singer, dancer, actor, and designer. I go to
Interlochen Arts Camp in the summer for voice. My vocal coach is June
Zoerhof. She trains me for auditions, shows, etc. I was in the Young
Americans Workshop, where I performed and was a "homestay" for 5 of
the Young Americans. I hope to become one of them in the future. I'm
very creative, so I love anything in music, theater, and art.
Robert
Schanski (Chorus) My theater experience is somewhat limited. I starred
at the sheriff of Nottingham in my 3rd grade class production of "Robin
Hood", and this past spring I appeared as Abner Dillon in the Harbor
Springs High School production of "42nd Street". I am a lover of
music, and I perform with the Harbor Springs Jazz Band as a trombonist.
This fall I will be a freshman at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Eeva
Sharp (Chorus) I attend Concord Academy Petoskey. In school I am a member
of the dance company and jazz band. My most recent roles include Jim in
"Huckleberry Finn" and Belle in "Beauty and the
Beast". This is my first time with Little Traverse Civic Theatre, and
it has been a lot of fun!
Kara
Ulrich (Chorus) Kara is a recent graduate of Concord Academy Petoskey and
will soon be attending NCMC to become a high school English teacher. She
plans to continue acting with LTCT and other local theatre groups, a trend
started around the age of six. Since then she has acted in a variety of
exciting parts including Florinda in "Into the Woods", Estella in
"West Side Story", Mrs. Potiphar in "Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat", and Hero in "Much Ado About
Nothing". She currently lives in Petoskey with her parents and three
of her sisters.
BJ Wirgau
(Chorus) I've been in school plays in elementary school, and have worked with my
church in dramas. I've been in "Who's in Charge" for 3
years. I work at Kit Carson Paint & Wallpaper. I've been in
choirs at school and am currently in my church's choir. This is my first
performance with Little Traverse Civic Theatre.
